WACO (October 16, 2012)--A Waco firefighter was injured while helping put out a late-night fire.

A fire started at around 11:45 p.m. Monday night at 2526 N. 20th Street in Waco.

Several units were on the scene putting out the blaze until about 2:45 a.m.

An assistant fire chief tells News 10 that nobody was home at the time of the fire.

The home is a total loss.

The injured firefighter was taken to Hillcrest Hospital with burns to his hands.
