Flooding Damages Area Roads

Crews were out early Friday repairing road damage caused by flooding from the heavy rain that drenched parts of Central Texas.

BELL COUNTY (October 31, 2013) Crews were making repairs Thursday in Bell County to roads damaged by flooding in Bell County overnight.

At around 7:30 a.m. Bell County Sheriff's deputies responded to an area near Heidenheimer at Wedel Cemetery Road at Shaw Road after a portion of the road washed away.

Tony Mendenhall with the Bell County Road and Bridge Department said the road may be open by noon Thursday.

Crews in Holland were also still working to monitor damaged areas Friday morning.

Holland Fire Chief Coleman Benner said two people were rescued from flooded roads overnight.

At around 1 a.m. Thursday a man was pulled from his truck on Donahoe Road southeast of Holland.

Crews were able to get him out safely, but the truck was washed away.
