TEMPLE (January 18, 2013) --- Doctors at Scott & White Hospital in Temple said Friday they're seeing fewer blood donors than usual this month.

Fewer people donate to the hospital’s blood bank this time of year, but because of the flu outbreak, donations are down more than usual, evidently because would–be donors want to avoid contact with flu patients.

On Friday Scott & White set up its mobile blood donation unit across the street from the main hospital in hopes that more people would stop by to donate.

The mobile unit will also be in the area next week.
