NORTH FORT HOOD (March 22, 2013)-- Curtis Alvin Clement, 80, was in custody Friday afternoon following a high-speed chase that ended abruptly at a controlled entrance point into North Fort Hood.
Clement was facing a charge of evading arrest in a motor vehicle, a Gatesville police lieutenant said.
The chase started after officers were sent Friday morning to an address on Farm-to-Market Road 215 in response to a suspicious vehicle call.
When officers located the vehicle, the driver sped off, heading first north toward Main Street, which also is U.S. Highway 84, and then turning south on State Highway 36 toward Temple.
As the chase left the Gatesville City Limits and entered North Fort Hood, the driver stopped at a main entry gate into the post.
