GEORGETOWN (March 22, 2013)—Rex Allen Nisbett, 51, has been charged with murder in the 1991 death of his estranged wife who disappeared from her Central Texas apartment and whose body was never found.
Williamson County Jail records show that Nisbett was held Friday in lieu of $250,000 bond.
He was booked into the jail in Georgetown on Thursday.
Vicki Nisbett of Cedar Park was last seen in December 1991 at her apartment.
District Attorney Jana Duty, who took office in January, reviewed the case including blood evidence at the request of a friend of the missing woman.
Duty said the Nisbetts were divorcing but the wife let her spouse stay at her apartment during the holidays.
Duty says it's a strong circumstantial case despite not having a body.
