FAIRFIELD (December 20, 2013) Jurors found a Fairfield pastor accused of child sexual assault guilty on all counts Friday morning.

Defendant Anthony Lynn Thibodeaux, 37, still serves as pastor of the Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church.

He has been free on bond since his arrest in Limestone County on Aug. 10, 2012.

Thibodeaux was arrested after an initial investigation showed a woman, who is said to be Thibodeaux's friend, lured a 15-year-old girl to her house and then watched as a man sexually assaulted the girl, an arrest affidavit says.

Jurors began deliberating the case at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday and continued until around 8:15 p.m.

They returned to resume deliberations at around 10 a.m. Friday and returned the verdict just before 11 a.m.

They’ll now consider punishment.

The trial was interrupted Tuesday by a move to an alternate venue after the courthouse was closed because of cracks in the floor and a fear that there may have been structural damage in the building.

The trial was moved back into the courthouse building on Thursday after inspectors determined the building was safe for use.
