WACO (December 20, 2012)--An employee of a local bank who was arrested Tuesday and charged in the theft of money from a customer's account was free on bond Thursday.
Jaleesa Elaine Sais, 21, posted a $15,000 bond on Wednesday and was released from the McLennan County Jail where she had been held on three charges of forgery in connection with the theft of money from a bank customer's account.
A customer opened an account last May at the bank where Sais worked and over the next few days noticed withdrawals from his account that he did not make.
The customer notified Waco police who began an investigation into the thefts.
Sais admitted she withdrew the funds from the account and promised to repay the customer, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said, but after she failed to do so, a police detective obtained three warrants for her arrest.
Police records indicate three separate withdrawals were listed on the warrants, one for $240 and two others for $150 each.
