WACO (April 9, 2013)—McLennan County Commissioners Tuesday authorized $116,000 in back pay for jailers to comply with a U.S. Labor Department order.
The pay is to cover times over a two-year period when jailers who were supposed to be on lunch breaks were asked to perform tasks.
When benefits are figured in, the total amount owned will rise to $145,000.
The money will be allocated next week and the affected employees will then get checks.
