MART (April 29, 2013)—Mart High School Principal LouAnn Wolf was on paid leave Monday while officials investigate allegations that answer documents were changed after students took the standardized STAAR test.
The district learned of the irregularities last Wednesday, notified the Texas Education Agency and launched an internal investigation, Mart Superintendent Todd Gooden said Monday.
The school's 9th, 10th and 11th grade students took STAAR English tests from April 1 to April 4.
Wolf has been with the district for about 5 years and has had an exemplary record, Gooden said.
Gooden issued a statement Monday in which he said the district will work with its attorneys and the TEA to “bring this matter to a conclusion and ensure that an incident like this never happens again.”
“Since the moment it was brought to our attention, Mart ISD has been diligently working towards a resolution to this matter. In no way do we want the testing security of our district to ever again be compromised,” he said.
