Local Overpass Was 14-Foot-8, But Truck’s Load Was A Tad Higher

WACO (July 13, 2012)—An 18-wheeler hauling a mobile office building clipped the underside of an overpass on State Highway 6 Friday morning just outside of Waco, slicing off part of the building’s roof.

The accident happened at around 8:45 a.m. Friday at Highway 6 and McLaughlin Road.

The McLaughlin Road overpass has a clearance of 14 feet and 8 inches, but the load was just a few inches higher.

No one was hurt.
