An affidavit filed in the case said the four were arrested in connection with a string of at least 10 robberies of pizza deliverymen over the past six months.
According to police reports the four called in orders for pizza and when the food was delivered used pepper spray and a handgun to rob the driver.
In cooperation with several restaurants, police began keeping records of phone numbers given when pizzas were ordered and after some investigation were able to identify numbers that were associated with earlier robberies.
On the last occasion police were able to find a group of four suspects in the area where a robbery had been reported and upon investigation found a loaded handgun and packaging for a pepper spray device in a car.
After police questioned the four at least one of them admitted to the robberies and told officers they planned to rob the deliveryman at least "nine out of 10 times" they ordered a pizza.
