VALLEY MILLS (July 14, 2012)- A man who authorities say led Central Texas officers on two high speed chases on Friday and a third on Saturday has been arrested.
Police arrested Charles Richard Murphy, 43, Saturday afternoon in Valley Mills.
The chase on Saturday started around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 56 just north of Valley Mills.
Murphy was driving south down the highway in a maroon PT Cruiser.
Around 2 p.m. the car Murphy was driving crashed into a fence near the intersection of Avenue A and 11th Street in Valley Mills.
After the crash Murphy got out and ran from police, and was quickly caught and arrested.
Murphy was treated for minor injuries at the scene and was then taken to jail.
On Friday authorities say Murphy led officers on two high speed chases after they tried to arrest him on forgery charges.
