WACO (March 11, 2013)--A Waco police officer was injured Monday morning when a car struck him as he worked a traffic accident at the intersection of South New Road and Bagby Avenue.
The officer, whose name was not immediately released, was struck by a passing vehicle while he was investigating the accident, Waco police Officer Steve Anderson said.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a foot injury and then later released.
The first accident happened just after 7:30 a.m. Monday when a van that was northbound on South New Road collided with another car whose driver was attempting to turn onto Bagby.
No one was injured in that accident.
