Police Make Arrest In Attack That Left Local Man In A Coma

ROBINSON (July 14, 2012) - Robinson police have made an arrest in an assault that left the victim clinging to life.

Late Friday night, Clinton Douglas Mills, 30, of Hewitt was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

On Wednesday, Robinson police responded to the home of Matthew Ray Easley, 56, on Robinson Drive after a relative found Easley injured from the attack.

Police say he suffered massive head injuries, a fractured skull, and his eyes and face were swollen and covered in blood.

Easley was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

In August of 2010 Easley was the victim of an attack at the same location, police do not believe the two attacks are related.

Mills is in the McLennan County Jail facing numerous charges, including back child support and aggravated assault, on bonds totally $21,500

As of Saturday Easley was still in a coma at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, in critical condition.
