KILLEEN (June 24, 2012)—Killeen police were investigating Sunday after officers were sent to a motorcycle accident where they found a Fort Hood soldier dead from injuries.

Police weren’t sure Sunday just when the accident in the 2900 block of East Stan Schlueter Boulevard happened but they have determined the soldier was riding his 2005 Yamaha eastbound on Stan Schlueter near the Christian House of Prayer when the motorcycle left the roadway, flew through the air and ejected the rider.

Police found his body alongside the roadway and the cycle in a nearby construction area.

Bell County Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced the 21-year-old soldier dead at the scene at 3:06 p.m. Sunday and ordered his body taken for autopsy.

Police have not released the man’s name pending notification of next of kin.
