WACO (July 13, 2012)--Waco police arrested a man Thursday who was wanted in a robbery in May at a local tobacco shop during which the clerk was severely beaten.
Quincy Ramone Allen, 23, was ordered held in the McLennan County Jail on bonds totaling $31,000 on the robbery and two other charges.
Allen was also held on a parole revocation without bond.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Friday Allen was arrested on a warrant in the robbery and assault at the Discount Tobacco Store at 1918 Parklake Drive.
Swanton said at about 9:15 p.m. on May 21, the clerk saw two men hanging around outside the building and went outside to investigate.
When the clerk approached the men, they attacked him, beat him severely and stomped him as he lay on the sidewalk.
The men then took the victim's wallet that contained cash and credit cards.
Swanton said the clerk was so severely beaten that he had to be taken by ambulance to a local hospital where his jaw was wired shut.
Swanton said investigators are continuing their search for the second man involved in the holdup.
