BELLMEAD (October 31, 2012)- His death was a Halloween nightmare.

Ten years ago, 15-year-old Keith Moore was struck by a car and killed while trick or treating along Kendall Lane in Bellmead.

His death continues to remind parents in the area to protect their children on Halloween night.

"It was very tragic and my heart just aches for any parent that has to go through that," Sherri Dysinger said.

Dysinger lives on Kendall Lane today. Safety is her main goal during the ten year anniversary of Keith's death.

"We actually went up and down the road and did a prayer walk tonight," Dysinger said.

"We as a neighborhood wanted to pray for the safety in this area."

Keith's father, Larry Moore, spoke with News 10 before trick or treating began Wednesday night. He said Halloween is still a very painful night for him.

He also warned parents and said they shouldn't take the holiday lightly. Dysinger says she couldn't agree more.

"You can't stop Halloween. It's going to happen, and I mean it's not my favorite holiday but you can work with it," Dysinger said.

"You can keep your children safe by being aware of what's going on around you."

Halloween night was a peaceful affair on Kendall Lane.

But the memory of Keith was in the air, many still remember his death ten years later.
