COLLEGE STATION (December 19,2012)--A Texas A&M student died in a one-vehicle crash early Wednesday that Texas Department of Public Safety troopers say happened while she was texting.

The DPS said Chandler Renee Small, 19, of Montgomery County, was driving south at high rate of speed at around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 30 near the Walker-Grimes County line when she failed to negotiate a turn because she was texting.

Her vehicle left the roadway, hit a culvert and landed on its roof.

Small suffered massive injuries and died instantly, the DPS said.

Another motorist who drove up on the crash scene reported the accident.
