KILLEEN (January 28, 2013)--Antonio Marquise Belford, 19, Tre’quan Shavae Locke, 19, and Travon Andra Foster-Jones, 17, were in the Bell County Jail Monday, charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the gunpoint robbery of a man who responded to a Craigslist ad that offered wheel rims for sale.
Their bonds were set at $100,000 each.
The three teenagers were arrested following a vehicle pursuit and a foot chase through a local neighborhood after the victim, who was able to trail the robbers after the holdup, called 911.
The robbery occurred just before 2 p.m. Friday after the victim drove to the area of Minthorn and Weiss in response to the Craigslist ad.
When he arrived, he was told to sit in the seller’s Crown Victoria and then was robbed at gunpoint, police said.
The robbers forced him out of the car and drove off, but he was able to follow and called police.
Killeen school district officers heard the call and spotted the Crown Victoria, but the robbers abandoned the car and tried to escape on foot, jumping backyard fences as they ran through a neighborhood.
During the search for the three, one officer noticed a small four-door car driven by a female in the area of Chimney Rock and Briarcroft Lane.
A short time later, officers saw that car again as it backed out of a driveway, but this time three males matching the description of the robbers accompanied the female driver.
Officers pulled the car over and detained the occupants.
Belford, Locke and Foster-Jones were arrested.
Investigators are looking into links between the robbery and other incidents.
