LEVITA (June 24, 2012)—A 2-year-old girl died a day after she was found lifeless in a family swimming pool in Levita, west of Gatesville.

Coryell County Chief Deputy Joe Blakley said the child was pronounced dead at McLane Children’s Hospital at Scott and White in Temple after she was flown there from the scene on Coryell County Road 106.

Witnesses said the child was found in the swimming pool sometime after 2 p.m. Saturday.

Rescuers responded to the scene and the child was flown by helicopter to Scott and White.

Blakley said the child’s body was taken to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, for autopsy.
