MEXIA (January 9, 2012)—Three juveniles were in the Limestone County Detention Center in Groesbeck and police were looking for two others after vandals armed with BB guns went on a weekend spree, shooting out windows in vehicles throughout Mexia.

Police began receiving reports of the vandalism Saturday night and at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Vandals targeted 54 vehicles and two houses during the spree, which came to an end after the vehicle in which the juveniles were riding ended up stuck in a ditch.

Officers found the vehicle and detained three of the occupants, but two others ran.

Police recovered three BB guns from the vehicle and determined that the five were involved in the vandalism.

The three who were arrested were charged with organized criminal activity.

The two who ran have been identified and police were seeking arrest warrants Monday.

The vandalism left residents whose vehicles were targeted with a mess to clean up.

Misty Murphy lives on La Villeta Street where three cars were hit.

"I was mad because we have a deductible we have to pay, and I know we'll have to pay it out of pocket," said Murphy.
