WACO (December 16, 2013) An attempt by Waco police early Monday morning to serve an arrest warrant led to a brief foot chase and subsequent arrest.
Officers were attempting to serve the warrant just before 6 a.m. at a residence in the 900 block of Wooded Acres Drive when the man they were trying to arrest ran.
Officers chased the man on foot for several minutes before catching up to him near the intersection of Lake Air and Tennyson Drives, Waco police W. Patrick Swanton said.
After the man was arrested officers called for an ambulance, but the man did not require medical attention, Swanton said.
Candy Joe Resendez was taken to the McLennan County Jail, where he was held Monday afternoon facing evading and resisting arrest charges, according to online records.
He was originally wanted for probation violations, Swanton said.
