TEMPLE (December 5, 2012)—Melisa Durrett, 44, of Belton was in the Bell County Jail Wednesday facing a list of charges after Temple police officers got an eyeful from a woman who proved to be a handful at the scene of a disturbance Tuesday night.
Durrett was held in lieu of bonds totaling $6,500 charged with criminal mischief, drug possession, public intoxication and resisting arrest after the incident.
Officers were sent just before 9 p.m. Tuesday to a convenience store in the 3800 block of South 31st Street in response to a report that a woman was exposing her breasts to customers and employees.
When they arrived, the woman was lying on the ground and yelling incoherently, a police report said.
When officers approached, she lifted her shirt and bared her breasts to officers, police said.
When officers attempted to arrest her for public intoxication, she resisted, police said, and she also kicked and damaged the patrol car in which she was placed after she was in custody.
A report said she damaged emergency lights mounted on the rear deck of the patrol car when she tried to kick out a window.
What a police report described only as a dangerous drug was recovered after the arrest.
Other details weren’t immediately available.
