Killeen Police have arrested Terrance Charles Beard 23, of Louisiana, for the offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault to a child. This arrest stems from a February 20, 2008 report in which a mother picked up her 4 month old daughter from The Little Blessing Daycare located at 803 N. 10th Street. The mother was told by daycare providers that her daughter was injured. The mother examined her daughter and discovered non-accidental injuries to her anus; she immediately took her daughter to a local hospital and contacted the Killeen Police Department. An investigation by the Killeen Police Department’s Youth Services Unit revealed an employment application and scheduling documents indicating that Terrance Charles Beard was employed at the day care. He was at work on February 20th and had access to the baby. Further investigation revealed the child was not injured during the first diaper change by daycare staff. The injury to the child was noticed by the daycare staff but no one notified the police department or child protective services. Terrance Charles Beard was interviewed by police detectives and admitted that he did assault the 4 month old child. The case was screened by the Bell County District Attorney’s office and a complaint was returned charging Beard with Aggravated Sexual Assault to a Child. Beard was arraigned by Justice of Peace Garland Potvin and a bond of $200,000.00 dollars was set. He is in the process of being transferred to the Bell County Jail.
