CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (November 20, 2012)--One person died and nine others were injured after authorities say a pickup truck going the wrong way on an Arizona freeway struck a charter bus head-on Tuesday afternoon.
The pickup truck burst into flames in the crash.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 10 in Casa Grande, about 50 miles south of Phoenix.
Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves said the TBC Conexion bus from Mexico was headed to Phoenix with 16 people aboard, including the driver.
The bus driver and a second seriously injured person were airlifted from the accident scene.
Graves says seven passengers on the bus were taken by ground ambulance to Casa Grande-area hospitals.
