FAIRMONT, N.C. (March 26, 2013)--A 10-year-old boy was accidentally shot to death by his father in North Carolina while the man was cleaning a shotgun.
Robeson County deputies say Christopher Stanlane, 34, was on the couch in his home in Fairmont, N.C. wiping down the gun at around 4 p.m. Sunday when the weapon fired.
Investigators say the boy, who was sitting in front of his father watching television, was struck in the head.
Paramedics declared him dead at the home.
No charges have been filed, and deputies are still investigating the shooting.
