WASHINGTON (December 14, 2010)--A yearlong review of the Afghanistan war will show that the U.S. can begin withdrawing troops in July, the White House said Tuesday.

President Barack Obama and his top national security officials met for nearly two hours Tuesday to review the report and the president will speak about the findings Thursday.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says the report focuses on three components; Al-Qaeda's senior leadership, Afghanistan and
Pakistan.

He said the report shows progress in halting the momentum of the Taliban and increasing cooperation with the Pakistani government.

Gibbs said there are still areas of concern, including strengthening the capacity of the Afghan government and ending extremist safe havens in Pakistan.
