ACAPULCO, Mexico (February 5, 2013)—Mexican police are looking for a gang of armed, masked men who burst into a rented home in the Mexican resort of Acapulco and raped six Spanish tourists.
Acapulco Mayor Luis Walton said the men held a group of 12 Spaniards at gunpoint, tied up the men with phone cords and bathing suit straps and then raped the women.
Walton said the attack occurred Monday on the outskirts of Acapulco.
Walton said police are searching for the attackers, but gave no details on their presumed identity.
He acknowledged the attack would affect the resort's image.
Acapulco has already been battered by years of drug gang violence.
