Body Of Alabama Hostage-Taker Removed From Bunker

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 7, 2013)--The body of a man who held a 5-year-old boy hostage for nearly a week before he was killed in a shootout with the FBI suffered 'multiple gunshot wounds,”
Dale County, Ala., Coroner Woodrow Hilboldt said Thursday.

Hilboldt said he was allowed into the bunker where Jim Lee Dykes body lay Wednesday evening and pronounced Dykes dead at 8:58 p.m.

Hilboldt said Dykes' body had "multiple gunshot wounds," but he declined to give the exact number of wounds or where on his body he had been shot.

The coroner said Thursday that Dykes' body was taken to a state forensics laboratory in Montgomery for an autopsy.
