Boy, 11, Caught At School With Gun, 400 Rounds Of Ammo

VANCOUVER, Wash. (October 24, 2013) Police in Vancouver, Wash have arrested an 11-year-old boy who’s accused of taking a handgun, more than 400 rounds of ammunition and multiple knives to his middle school.

No one was hurt.

Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said late Wednesday night in a statement that the boy was interviewed by detectives and arrested for investigation of one count of attempted murder.

He remains in Clark County juvenile detention.

Officers responded to Frontier Middle School at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to investigate a report that ammunition had been found.

Police located the ammunition and multiple weapons.

The middle school and a nearby elementary school were locked down for about two hours.

The spokeswoman says the police major crimes team continues to investigate.
