CHICAGO (September 20, 2013)--A 3-year-old boy who was among 13 people who were shot on Chicago's southwest side Thursday night was resting in a hospital Friday, family members and a pastor said.
His grandmother describes the boy as "doing better" and says he's "very strong" after he had plastic surgery.
Family members say the boy was shot in the cheek.
The toddler was talking when he arrived at the hospital and was heavily sedated Friday, Pastor Corey Brooks of the New Beginnings Church of Chicago.
Meanwhile, Chicago police continue to searching for the gunmen.
Investigators say they believe the shooting was gang-related, but they still haven't made any arrests.
The shooting was reported around 10 p.m. Thursday.
One witness said dreadlocked men opened fire from a car, but police didn't say how many suspects they were searching for.
