Campus Locked Down After Report Of Man With Gun

GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 28, 2014) North Carolina A&T State University officials evacuated evacuating several buildings and advised students and staff to take shelter Monday after a report of a man with a rifle on campus.

Campus police received a report of a gunman in the General Classroom Building at 9:57 a.m. Monday, University spokeswoman Samantha Hargrove said.

There was no immediate verification of the initial report and no reports of injuries or shots being fired, she said.

Hargrove says campus police swept and evacuated four buildings clustered on the north side of the campus.

An all-clear was issued just before noon CDT.

N.C. A&T is a historically black university with a nearly 200-acre central campus east of downtown Greensboro.
