Children Initially Feared Dead In Fire Now Focus Of Police Search

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 26, 2012)--Investigators say they are looking for two children they initially believed had died in a farmhouse fire along with their step-grandparents.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday issued an endangered child alert for Chloie Leverette, 9, and Gage Daniel, 7.

Investigators say they could not find the children's remains in the house in Bedford County about a half-hour from Nashville.

Neighbors last saw the children on Sunday evening before the fire destroyed the home.

The Bedford County sheriff has said they found the remains of Leon "Bubba" McClaran, 72, and his wife, Molli McClaran, 70.

Relatives said they are the children's step-grandparents.

But the TBI says the children were not victims of the fire and their whereabouts are unknown.

They asked for the public's help Wednesday in the search for the two.
