Incident commander Rich Harvey says firefighters hope to make more progress Friday after the weather helped their efforts a day earlier.
Firefighters say the Waldo Canyon Fire has burned 26 square miles, down from their earlier estimate of 29 square miles.
More precise mapping often results in revisions of size estimates for active fires.
Colorado Springs Police Chief Pete Carey said one person is missing from a home in which another person’s body was found.
Carey says authorities are trying to track down "less than 10" people who may be unaccounted for.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
