WEST POINT, Ky. (September 30, 2012)--Officials at a Kentucky dragway say three people were injured in an on-track accident.
The accident occurred at around 8:10 p.m. Saturday in the burnout area of the Ohio Valley Dragway near the Hardin-Jefferson County line in north-central Kentucky.
Track manager Terry Duff told a local TV station that a dragster driver suffered a medical condition.
The dragster struck a member of his pit crew and a crew member from another team.
The driver, who was traveling at a low speed, was flown to University Hospital in Louisville and the other two were taken there by ambulance.
A statement on the dragway website said "two crew members and one driver were injured in an on-track incident," but that no spectators were injured.
