PETERSBURG, Va. (April 23, 2013)—Four men have been charged in connection with an alleged hazing incident that resulted in the drowning of a Virginia State University freshman, police said.
Chesterfield County police said Tuesday three of the men have been arrested and a fourth is being sought.
Police said they were members of a group known as "Men of Honor," which is not sanctioned by VSU.
The four are being charged with multiple counts of hazing.
Police said a body recovered Monday was positively identified as that of Marvell Edmonson, 19. ‘
The search continued Tuesday for a fellow VSU freshman, Jauwan M. Holmes, 19.
The young men were swept away over the weekend by the swift waters of the Appomattox River near Petersburg during what police called an initiation.
