GOLETA, Calif. (August 12, 2014) A Southern California man admitted to authorities that he stabbed his parents and two sons to death in their home in Goleta, Calif., and said he believed it was his destiny to carry out the killings, Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown said Tuesday.
Nicolas Holzer 46, was held without bond Tuesday evening.
Authorities found the bodies of Holzer's mother and father, and his sons, ages 13 and 10, late Monday night at the family's home.
The family’s dog was also stabbed to death.
Authorities say Holzer summoned authorities to the home near the University of California, Santa Barbara, after the killings, telling a dispatcher in a matter-of-fact voice that he had killed the family.
