CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 6, 2013)--Four people were shot and wounded Thursday night when gunfire broke out at an anti-violence vigil in Charlotte, N.C., police said.
Mothers of Murdered Offspring sponsored the vigil Thursday night to call attention to the death of a man who police say was shot and killed as he tried to rob a convenience store.
During the vigil, someone pulled out a gun and opened fire, a police statement said.
When officers arrived, they found that most people had fled, and there were no shooting victims, but they later police learned there were four victims, each of whom called 911 from a different location.
Police have made no arrests.
