MEXICO CITY (May 9, 2013)--The death toll from a gas tanker-truck explosion on the outskirts of Mexico City rose to 24 Thursday after another victim died of injuries suffered in the massive blast.
Eruviel Avila, the governor of Mexico State, says 12 people remain hospitalized.
Avila says the state government will help people pay for rebuilding their homes and replacing lost possessions.

The tanker hauling liquid petroleum hit a center divider and exploded after the driver lost control of the truck early Tuesday on a highway lined by homes in the Mexico City suburb of Ecatepec.
