BERLIN (October 24, 2013) A senior German lawmaker says he's concerned about what Washington didn't say about allegations that German Chancellor Angela Merkel's cellphone was monitored.
The U.S. said it isn't monitoring and won't monitor, but didn’t say it has never monitored.
Germany summoned the U.S. ambassador Thursday for an explanation.
Merkel's government says she complained to President Barack Obama in a phone call yesterday about alleged monitoring.
