LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (September 14, 2013)--A Greyhound bus veered off a highway early Saturday, overturned and landed on its side in a cornfield in southwest Ohio, injuring 35 people.
None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening
The bus, carrying 51 passengers and the driver, was northbound on I-75 early Saturday when it overturned about 26 miles north of Cincinnati just before 4 a.m., the Butler County Emergency Operations Center said in a statement.
Authorities say 35 people were taken to area hospitals, six by helicopter and the rest by ambulance, with injuries that ranged from minor to severe.
Officials say the bus left Cincinnati and was bound for Detroit. Passengers not injured were transported back to Cincinnati.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the crash.
