LGBT Group Finds Acceptance At Evangelical Seminary

PASADENA, Calif. (July 13, 2013)--Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif., is one of the first evangelical seminaries in the nation to approve an official campus organization for LGBT students.

Fuller is one of the largest multi-denominational seminaries in the world and its decision not to oppose the club created ripples in the larger world of Christian colleges.

Attempts to start gay student groups at some other Christian colleges throughout the country have been met with censorship and outright bans.

Although the group's approval is seen by many as progress, some argue it's a step forward with strings attached.

School policy states students can "come out," but they must remain celibate and are not allowed to be politically active.

Students say they are aware of the group's limitations, and choose to accept them.
