Lack Of Sleep A Factor In Crash That Injured Actor Tracy Morgan

TRENTON, N.J. (June 9, 2014) Kevin Roper, 35, the Wal-Mart truck driver from Georgia who’s charged in the crash in New Jersey that critically injured actor-comedian Tracy Morgan and killed another comedian had not slept for more than 24 hours, according to a criminal complaint.

Roper is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Wednesday.

He’s charged with death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.

Authorities say Roper evidently failed to slow for traffic early Saturday and then swerved to avoid a crash.

His rig smashed into the back of Morgan's Mercedes limo bus, killing comedian James "Jimmy Mack" McNair.

A publicist says the 45-year-old actor and comedian remained in critical condition and was "more responsive."
