SALT LAKE CITY (October 14, 2012)--Court records show that a Utah man accused of killing his grandmother stabbed the elderly woman 111 times.
In the newly released documents, prosecutors also claim Zachary Weston, 21, told police he cut his grandmother in several places and removed several of her internal organs.
According to the records, officers went to the home of Joyce Dexter, 84, in Salt Lake City home on Oct. 3 after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance and found Weston standing over Dexter holding a bloody knife.
The records say Weston had blood on his clothing and hands and later told investigators he had "slit her belly, her heart and her jugular."
Weston has been charged with aggravated murder, a capital offense.
Family members have said Weston suffers from mental illness.
He has a prior arrest record.
