WOBURN, Mass. (October 3, 2012)--Thomas Mortimer IV pleaded guilty Wednesday in Superior Court in Woburn, Mass., to killing his wife, two young children and mother-in-law at their home north of Boston two years ago.
Mortimer pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and faces life in prison without parole for the June 2010 deaths.
Mortimer’s sister-in-law found the victims dead at their Winchester home to which she went after repeated telephone calls to her mother and sister weren't answered.
Prosecutors said the slayings stemmed form marital problems between Mortimer and his wife, Laura Stone Mortimer.
The others killed were Ellen Stone, and the two Mortimer children, 2-year-old Charlotte and 4-year-old Thomas Mortimer V.
