WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. (January 13, 2014) A man suspected of shooting two people Monday inside a Tampa Bay area movie theater is in custody, authorities said.
The Pasco County, Fla., Sheriff's Office said the shooting occurred Monday at The Grove 16 Theater in Wesley Chapel, north of Tampa.
Two couples were watching "Lone Survivor" Monday when the suspect and his wife evidently took issue with the couple seated in front of them over use of phones, Pasco County Sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said.
Tobin said the ensuing argument led to the shooting.
Both victims were taken by ambulance to a Tampa-area hospital.
The man later died, but the female victim's injuries weren't considered life threatening, he said.
In summer 2012, a man killed a dozen people and injured 70 at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo.
James Holmes, 26, is charged in the killings.
