STOCKHOLM (January 10, 2013)--A court in southern Sweden has convicted a man of ordering online sex shows involving very young Filipino girls and sentenced him to eight years in prison.

Judge Khennet Tallinger of the Hassleholm District Court said the 52-year-old man paid adult women and relatives of the six girls, who ranged in age from 5 to 8, to carry out graphic and violent assaults on the children.

The judge says the man, who wasn't named publicly under Swedish privacy rules, paid for the shows in 2008-9 by bank transfer, usually $30-$40 a time, watched live online.

The man denied the accusations.

Tallinger said Philippine authorities cooperated in the investigation of the case.
