CAMERON, La. (March 16, 2013)—The three men killed when a helicopter crashed late Friday morning in a remote area of Cameron Parish, La., during a maintenance test flight have been identified.
Cameron Sheriff Ron Johnson identified the dead as the pilot, William R. Croucher, 69, of California, and two mechanics, Michael Lee Tyree, 55, of Iowa, La., and Timothy Lloyd Goehring, 41, of Sulphur, La.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft crashed about 30 minutes after taking off from Lake Charles, La.
The National Transportation Safety Board sent a team to the crash site.
