Pastor Won’t Face Charges In Deadly Altercation

LAS VEGAS (August 15, 2014) California pastor Robert Lynn Cox, 35, won’t be charged in a Las Vegas parking lot altercation that left another man dead, prosecutors said Friday.

The Clark County district attorney's office concluded it could not rule out that Cox had acted in self-defense in the altercation with Link Ellingson, 55.

Cox said he was with family and interns on a mission trip in June 2013 to Las Vegas when the group stopped at the Four Kegs pub.

Other members of the group said Ellingson assaulted them in the parking lot and that Cox fell to the ground with him.

Ellingson hit his head and died six months later.

Police say Cox initially told investigators that he punched Ellingson, but then later changed his story.

Witnesses supported his claim of self-defense.
