DUNDALK, Md. (September 24, 2012)—An officer shot and killed a Texas man who was struggling early Monday with another officer in Dundalk, Md., Baltimore County police said.
Police said at around 2:20 a.m. Monday, officers were interviewing the man when he became combative.
Authorities say the officer and the man fell to the ground.
Police say a second officer used pepper spray on the man, but he continued to struggle with the first officer.
Officials say the second officer then shot the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was identified as Joshua Michael Lopez, 22, of La Marque.
The officer who fired the shot has been placed on routine administrative leave.
